Places where you’ll find the name
These are places of interest that I have found. If you know of any others, please let me know.
Not unsurprisingly given its association with hops and hop growing, there are several houses and roads in Kent with names that include Fuggles.
Also in Kent there are two Fuggles Beer Cafes, one in Tonbridge, the other in Tunbridge Wells.
Over the border in East Sussex there is a house called Fuggles in the village of Dallington which I particularly like.
You can stay in a room called The Fuggles at The Hills Farm near Leominster, Herefordshire.
Further north in Worksop, near Sheffield, there is a ‘little ale house’ called Fuggles Chapter ONE. They don’t seem to have a web site, but they are obviously closely associated with The Fuggle Bunny Brewhouse (isn’t that a great name?) that supplies all their ales.
In a village called Leigh near Stoke-on-Trent there is a house called Fuggles. At least I think it’s a house as I haven’t visited it yet so I don’t know anything about it. It certainly isn’t in hop growing country!
A few miles west of Salisbury, Wiltshire on some maps you will see a village called Fugglestone St Peter.
Much further afield, on the outskirts of Sydney in Australia there can be found a Fuggles Lane and a Fuggles Road.
