Fuggles is a pretty rare name. (Fuggle without the ‘s’ is 4 or 5 times more common) Click here to find out about the origins of the name. I reckon that there are somewhere between 50 and 100 us around the world at present. As my investigations continue, I hope to arrive at a more accurate figure.

The Fuggles strain of hops would appear to be our biggest claim to fame. Unfortunately, it seems that it was a Richard Fuggle (no ‘s’) who propagated the strain back in 1875 so we cannot really claim it as ours. There’s more about that here.

Fuggles is a name that sounds friendly. All the Fuggles that I know certainly live up to the name.
